Bio:
Philomena Marano grew up in Brooklyn just a stone’s throw from Coney Island, which has had a deep influence on her work. In 2017 she moved from NY to Sarasota, Florida. Inspired by its natural beauty propelled her to begin her wUNDERsea series. A close bond to Coney island continues as she is currently partnering on a book project, “The Illustrated History of the Coney Island Hysterical Society”. Her work has been exhibited widely in and around NY. including ACA Galleries, The Bronx Museum, Tabla Rasa Gallery, Deutsche Bank and in Florida: Art Center Sarasota, Ringling College of Art and the Museum of Art-DeLand and works are represented in numerous private, corporate and museum collections.
